About the Work

This work examines masculinity through the tension between individuality and connection. It begins from a place of separation, where identity is held independently, before shifting toward a collective need for connection and shared experience.

As the work develops, it explores what it actually means to be together—not just physically, but emotionally. It confronts the reality that connection requires vulnerability, and that sharing space also means sharing weight, responsibility, and emotional burden. In this way, the piece challenges the difficulty many men face in navigating emotional openness within the community.

At its core, the work asks what it takes to build a genuine connection between men and what must be given up to sustain it. It ultimately positions grief, support, and shared emotional experience not as weakness, but as necessary conditions for growth, connection, and collective strength.
